The Henry Moore Foundation

Well it's been dry all week and so it's Saturday and a bank holiday weekend and guess what it was raining hard this morning.

I decided I had to get out and I wandered into Bishops Stortford curiously the rain stopped and the sun came out so what to do?

Now as a youngster growing up I couldn't help but be aware of the sculptor Henry Moore. A sculpture of his "Family Group" is one I passed by many times. Nearby at Perry Green is The Henry Moore foundation and it's where Moore and his wife Irina lived.

Today you can visit his home Hoglands and stroll around his garden and enjoy a number of his sculptures.

Very interesting works of art. I think I like the reclining figure best as it must look awesome at a distance.
